Beanie “doubtful” for USC Game

It’s being reported widely that Jim Tressel has stated that Chris “Beanie” Wells is doubtful for the dustup with the Trojans on Saturday. While he is a huge talent, this is a team sport and we have to believe that the Buckeyes will man up and do their best to bring down the mighty Trojans at home on Saturday.

Many are suggesting this is gamesmanship on Tressel’s part. It could be, but somehow, I don’t think so. Does this mean that he won’t play at all? Doubtful doesn’t mean out. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him in the game for a series or two as a decoy, but I’m of the opinion he doesn’t see much “real work” on Saturday. Too bad, a healthy Beanie vs. the USC linebacker corp would have been fun to watch.

Well, Beanie, I hope your foot heals and you feel better. I have no doubt that if you felt able to play, you’d do it.
